Nova Scotia's population is aging and the demand for health-care services growing.
To meet our new needs, Nova Scotia has launched the Continuing Care Strategy. Our 10-year plan will enhance and expand our continuing-care system. People will have the support they need to stay in their homes and communities, and if they need more help it will be there. Nova Scotia is building 800 new long-term care beds in nursing homes and replacing nine facilities by 2010.
Nova Scotia's Continuing Care Strategy (PDF) means seniors will be able to live well in a place they can call home, and our allied health providers will have more career opportunities in communities big and small.
